Chilliwack

HOW TO GET THERE: Take Hwy 1 east to Chilliwack Airport Exit 119B. Loop around to the right onto Vedder Road going north, which turns into Yale Road East. Before you reach Chilliwack City Centre turn right onto Airport Road, and follow 0.8 km to Young Road. Turn left and drive north 4.5 km to Cartmell Road. Turn left (west) onto Cartmell Road. Travel 2.2 km to the turnoff to the Public Boat Ramp, or you can go another 0.7 km to the Fishing Bar.

ACCESS: Public. Island 22 is a municipal park. Very good road access to fishing site, boat ramp and camping areas at all times of the year.

PARKING: Ample in designated areas. No parking on the fishing bar, but can park under trees along access road to site.

FACILITIES: Wilderness Campground, toilets, picnic tables, firewood, garbage cans.

Public Boat Ramp - Fee Charged
Overnight Camping - Fee Charged

Restrictions on Use of Fishing Bar. Daytime Only.
Summer May 15 - October 15 6:00am to 10:00pm
Winter October 16 - May 14 7:00am to 6:00pm

   

NOTES: Fishing Bar is approximately 1.5 km in length. Good fishing for Springs, Coho, Steelhead and Cutthroat Trout. Island 22 Boat Ramp provides access to island bars and those bars on the north shore of the Fraser River across from Island 22, at and downstream from the mouth of the Harrison River.

WARNINGS: Island bars immediately north of Island 22 Boat Ramp (2, North Island Bar or Wellington Bars) extend downstream below the surface, so give them a wide berth.
